How SprintType protects your data and respects your privacy
SprintType is built on a foundation of privacy and transparency. Your snippets, shortcuts, and typing data never leave your device. We cannot access, view, or collect your personal information—even if we wanted to.
All your snippets are stored locally on YOUR device using Firefox's built-in storage API
Zero data collection: We do not track, monitor, or collect any of your typing activity, snippets, or personal information
No cloud sync: Your data never touches our servers (we don't even have servers)
No analytics or telemetry: We don't use Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or any monitoring tools
Third-party ads appear only in the extension's settings interface (popup.html and snippets.html), never while you're typing

SprintType requests the following Firefox permissions:
storage - Required to save your snippets locally on your device<all_urls> - Required so the extension can detect your shortcuts and expand them on any website (Gmail, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.). This does NOT mean we collect data from those sites—it only allows the extension to listen for your shortcuts and replace them with your expansions.No typing activity: We don't record what you type on websites
No browsing history: We don't track which websites you visit
No personal information: No emails, names, IP addresses, or identifiers
No analytics or telemetry: We don't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any tracking services
No account required: You don't need to sign up, log in, or provide any credentials
SprintType is funded by non-intrusive advertisements that appear only in the extension's management interface (popup.html and snippets.html pages). These ads never appear while you're typing or using the core text expansion feature.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, your snippets are as secure as your computer. We recommend:
SprintType uses a "zero-knowledge" design: we have zero access to your data because we never receive it in the first place. Even if our website or infrastructure were compromised, your snippets would remain safe on your device.
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to anyone—period. Since we don't collect data, there's nothing to share.
The only exception is if you manually export your snippets and share them with others. You have full control over your data.
SprintType does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information, the extension is safe for users of all ages.
